Word Gnome

Word Gnome (soon to be renamed to Book Weave) is a visual map of non-fiction books. Books in this map are linked through curated citations. Why the focus on citations? Non-fiction book authors use citations from other books to show what inspired them, to provide examples, or sometimes to offer a rebuttal. Our market research showed that the current approach to citations is of little help when it comes to locating and evaluating the cited books. Our map will provide a better experience for non-fiction readers to traverse the web of books which are linked through citations. Practically speaking, a citation can be considered a recommendation by one author to read another book (or sometimes to avoid reading another book.) Current website is for collecting book data and information. Currently working on visualizing the data.
